Child Abuse Prevention

Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect

Child abuse is a worldwide issue. We are all responsible for making sure all children are safe. We can ensure all children have a brighter future through collaborative efforts with communities, service providers, and Texas families.

Anyone who suspects that a child has been or may be abused or neglected has a legal responsibility, under state law, to report the suspected abuse or neglect to law enforcement or Child Protective Services (CPS). Reports may be made by contacting one of the following:

Texas Abuse Hotline, 1-800-252-5400, Texas abuse hotline link.

Call 911 for emergency situations.
