Sporting Pink Team: Former VVHS secretary Cheryl Mavroulis is second from the left and Patti Wilson former teacher and counselor is in the middle.
A big Thank You goes out to the Valley View Athletic Department for their contribution of $1,100.00 towards the fundraising goal for Patti Wilson, former high school teacher and Counselor for VVHS. The Athletic department sold pink out T-shirts for the annual Pink out Game. Mrs. Wilson is now Lead Counselor for Frisco Heritage High School.
Also, cheerleaders at Heritage High School presented Patti Wilson with a check during the Pink Out pep rally in Frisco for $784. Heritage Students and teachers cut out and sold pink ribbons for $1 to display in the school’s cafeteria to raise awareness about breast cancer.
Wilson was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2011 and has been cancer free since March 2012. The money helped Wilson surpass her fundraising goal for participation in The Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk. Mrs. Wilson raised $3,229.00 and her team raised a total of 17,441.40. Over the three days of walking 3.3 million was raised for breast cancer research and awaremess.
“Cancer was not going to define me nor was it going to win the battle,” Wilson told the crowd during the pep rally. “No matter what struggle any of you may face at anytime in your life, it does not have to define you and it does not have to win the battle.”
Lunch prices for the 2013-2014 will be increasing, the Elementary lunch price will be $2.35 and MS/HS lunch price will be $2.75.
