Hello! I’m Cherish Sheffield, your Elementary School Counselor!
Here are some facts about me:
I have been in the Education field for 7 years.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma.
I hold a Master of Education in School Counseling from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
I hold certifications in School Counseling (K-12) and Elementary Education (1-8); both in Texas and Oklahoma.
Before beginning my career in education, I worked in insurance so I also hold licenses in property & casualty and life & health insurance.
I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd, and 5th grades.
My hobbies are going to concerts, traveling, and an old fashioned Netflix binge.
Ms. Sheffield’s School Counseling Philosophy:
Elementary school is a crucially fundamental time for children to grow not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. The methods used in my school counseling program are beneficial to so many life skills such as:
communication skills.
decision-making skills
self-regulation skills
team-building skills
a positive self-image
an optimistic outlook for the future
goal-setting
an awareness of their unique gifts, characteristics, and needs
and a desire to learn and achieve academically.
