Updated Pre-Kindergarten Enrollment Policy.

On April 17, 2023, the Valley View Board of Trustees adopted an updated Pre-Kindergarten enrollment policy.

The District shall prioritize admission to prekindergarten classes in accordance with the following until the classes reach the student-teacher ratio established by the District:

1. Resident children eligible for enrollment in prekindergarten under state law. [See EHBG(LEGAL)]
2. District employees’ children not meeting the state eligibility requirements for enrollment in prekindergarten, but admitted on a tuition-free basis.
3. Four-year-olds who reside in the District, but who are not children of District employees and do not meet the state eligibility requirements for enrollment in prekindergarten, but admitted on a tuition-free basis.
4. Four-year-olds who do not reside in the District, but who meet the state eligibility requirements for enrollment in prekindergarten and are siblings of transfer students enrolled in the District, but admitted on a tuition basis in accordance with law.
5. Four-year-olds who do not reside in the District and do not meet the state eligibility requirements for enrollment in prekindergarten, but who are siblings of transfer students enrolled in the District, but admitted on a tuition basis in accordance with law.
6. Four-year-olds who do not reside in the District and are not siblings of transfer students enrolled in the District, but who do meet the state eligibility requirements for enrollment in
prekindergarten, but admitted on a tuition basis in accordance with law.
7. Four-year-olds who do not reside in the District and do not meet the state eligibility requirements for enrollment in prekindergarten and are not siblings of transfer students enrolled in the District, but admitted on a tuition basis in accordance with law.

The enrollment of more students eligible for prekindergarten during the school year shall not result in the withdrawal of enrolled students not meeting the state eligibility criteria; however, students not in compliance with attendance requirements shall be withdrawn.

The tuition rate shall be established annually by the Board in accordance with statutory restrictions. [See EHBG(LEGAL)]
