Elementary Return To School

Dear Parent/Guardian,

The new school year is set to begin on Wednesday, August 17th. We are looking forward to seeing our returning students and are excited to welcome new ones to our campus! The regular school day will begin at 7:55 am and end at 3:51 pm.

Morning drop-off will start at 7:30 am. The school calendar and supply lists are posted on the school website.

Meet the Teacher will be Monday, August 15th. This event will be a come-and-go event with two different time frames. If your child’s last name begins with A-M, your time frame will be 4:30-5:15 pm. If your child’s last name begins with N-Z, your time frame will be 5:15-6:00 pm. Please bring school supplies to Meet the Teacher on August 15th. If you have children with different last names, please select one time frame for your family.

If you need assistance with school supplies, please let your child’s teacher know or contact the office staff. The class lists will be posted on the school website and on campus doors prior to Meet the Teacher.

To ensure the safety of our students and staff, we will continue to limit visitors during the school day. Parents are welcome to walk their child to their classroom on the first day of school (Wednesday). Breakfast and lunch will not be open for visitors during the school year. Class parties will be open to a limited number of visitors. To ensure every parent has the opportunity to attend a party, teachers will be scheduling party attendance at the beginning of the school year. The office staff will review the attendance list in advance, check registration forms to ensure those listed are approved to be on campus, and check in all visitors on the day of the party. These procedures are intended to protect our students and staff while they are on campus during school hours, a time that is mandated by the state. The elementary will continue to host family events throughout the school year to encourage family members to be involved and on campus. These events will be held outside of the required school hours, similar to football games, cross country meets, etc. This allows families to decide what’s best for them. Hosting events during school, which are the hours students are required to attend, removes the decision for families. If you have any questions about this, please contact Mrs. Nelson.

Prior to the school year starting, please register your student (more information is attached) and check your child’s immunization record to make sure that it is current. Texas law requires all immunizations to be completed by the first day of attendance.
