Dear Parent/Guardian,
The new school year is set to begin on August 17th. We are looking forward to seeing our returning students and are excited to welcome new ones to our campuses.
We will have our Back-to-School Night on August 15th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Middle School students/parents will meet in the Competition Gym at 6 pm for a quick assembly that will go over procedures and important information. Afterward, students will be able to pick up their schedules in the foyer and then proceed to the campus to visit with teachers in their classrooms.
The Middle School supply list is posted on our website. Students are responsible for bringing Notebook Paper, a 2" Binder, #2 Pencils, Blue/Black Pens, Pencil Container/bag to hold writing utensils, and Backpack. All other supplies for classes will be supplied by the school.
The regular school day will begin at 8:00 am and end at 3:51 pm. Class periods will follow a partial block schedule. Core classes (math, reading, science, social studies) will meet for 90 minutes every other day. Fine Arts, PE, and tutorial classes will meet every day for 45 minutes.
Check your child’s immunization record to make sure that it is current. Texas law requires all immunizations to be completed by the first day of attendance. Please make sure to look through the Student Handbook (available online @ www.vvisd.net or at the school office) with your child and familiarize yourself with the expectations and policies regarding dress code, attendance, grading, check-out procedures, etc.

You can view lesson plans for your child’s classes by visiting the Faculty pages and access their grades through the Parent Portal. Information will also be posted on the VVISD Facebook page.
