Corinne French, Member Corinne French was appointed to the Board of Trustees at the May 2012 school board meeting. She has six children attending VVISD. She is a full time student at Texas Woman's University and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies in December of 2013. She is an Empowering Women as Leaders Scholarship winner as well as a Mary I. Gourley Scholarship recipient. Following graduation, Corinne plans on attending TWU to pursue Masters of Arts in Teaching and then UNT for a Ph. D in higher education. |

Josh Brinkley
President Josh Brinkley was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2006. He is currently serving as President to the board. Mr. Brinkley, a former graduate of Valley View ISD in 1998, is the father of two daughters, and one son. He is married to Shawna Brinkley and one daughter is presently attending VVISD. Mr. Brinkley is a 2005 graduate of the University of North Texas and a 2008 graduate of Texas Wesleyan School of Law. Mr. Brinkley is a member of the Gainesville Rotary Club, the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville and a volunteer with the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville youth group. Mr. Brinkley is an attorney in Gainesville, Texas.

Karl Maughan Member Karl Maughan was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2010. He and his wife, Julie, are parents of two sons, one in college and the youngest currently attending Valley View High School. He is a graduate of VVISD and graduated from the University of North Texas with a BBA degree in Corporate Finance. He has been very active in the community serving on the City of Valley View Board of Aldermen prior to his election to the Board of Trustees. He has been employed by Peterbilt Motors Company in Denton, Texas, for 25 years and is currently a Program Manager responsible for new product development and also manages the division’s capital budget. |

David Pembroke
Member David has lived in Valley View since 1996. He has been employed at Peterbilt Motors since 1983 where he serves as SR PQI auditor in the quality assurance department. |

Rodney Ridge
Member Rodney Ridge was appointed to the Board of Trustees at the June 2008 meeting. Mr. Ridge is the husband of Cody Ridge and the father of two children who both attend Valley View ISD. The Ridge family has resided in Valley View since 1998 and are very active in their church and community. Mr. Ridge is the Sergeant over the Transport division of the Denton County Sheriff's Office where he has been employed for over 15 years. Mr. Ridge attended the University of North Texas and was a graduate of the UNT Police Academy in 1996.

Clint Grant
Secretary Clint Grant was appointed to the Board of Trustees at the May, 2007 school board meeting. He has two children attending VVISD. Mr. Grant moved to Valley View in 2001 with his wife Monica Mendez-Grant and their two children and reside in Mountain Springs. Mr. Grant received a Bachelors degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and an MBA from the University of North Texas. He is the Department Chair of the Aeronautical Technology Department at Tarrant County College. Mr. Grant is a coach and commissioner for the Dixie Youth Baseball League in Valley View.

Ray Sappington
Vice President Ray Sappington was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2005. He has completed the statewide training program, Leadership TASB, sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards as well as other board training programs. Mr. Sappington is married to Amy Sappington and the father of two daughters in VVISD. Mr. Sappington is a 1985 graduate of Valley View. He attended North Central Texas College and is employed with the Texas Department of Public Safety. He has been assigned to the Texas Highway Patrol out of Gainesville.

What Does your School Board do?
• Adopt such rules, regulations and bylaws as the Board deems appropriate;
• Levy and collect taxes and issue bonds;
• Prepare, adopt and file a budget for the succeeding fiscal year and file a report of the disbursements and receipts for the preceding fiscal year;
• Have the District's fiscal account audited at district expense by a Texas certified accountant;
• Receive bequests and donations or other monies or funds coming legally into its hands in the name of the district;
• Order, canvass the returns, declare results and issue certificates of elections as required by law;
• Acquire and hold real and personal property in the name of the district; and
