FRIENDS OF VALLEY VIEW

FFA           FCCLA              4H

There will be a Friends Group Meeting on Thursday August 27, 2015 at 6 pm.  We will meet in the HS cafeteria.  We will have much to discuss including the Redneck Fun Run on Sept 19, and the Ag Barn Dedication on Sept. 12.
 
Please spread the word and invite any new students that might be interested in joining.

PURPOSE:

A. The purpose of this 501 (c) (3) organization is to support local youth who actively participate in the Valley
View FFA, JR FFA, Valley View FCCLA and any local 4H club determined by Officers at the Cooke County
Livestock Show.
B. To provide a tie between all persons interested in supporting FCCLA, 4H and FFA members and the Friends by
assisting the FCCLA, 4H and FFA Education Personnel.
C. To promote greater knowledge of FCCLA, 4H and FFA and support Education Personnel.


MEETING TIME:

The meetings shall be determined each month for the following month starting with the first meeting the
Monday after Labor Day at 6:00 pm at the Valley View Ag class.


DESCRIPTION:

This organization conducts fundraising activities in order to support FCCLA, 4H and FFA students by buying their Cooke County Livestock Show breeding or market entry or exhibit, add-ons may also be awarded equally to all
students exhibiting at the Cooke County Youth Fair. This takes about $28,000.00 dollars a year (which is raised
during the current school year).


EXAMPLE OF FUNDRAISERS
Cow ChipGolfTournament which entails parents/students to get monetary sponsors, drink
donations, door prizes, soliciting golfers, contacting news media and participating on the day of the
tournament.


Auction entails parents/students getting items donated, i.e. gift certificates, tools, electronics; encouraging the
community to come and bid.


Rafle entails parents/students selling raffle tickets.


Requirement: All FCCLA, 4H and FFA families must in order to receive premium money at the County Livestock Show:
A. Attend 60% of meetings;
B. Serve on Committee’s when called upon;
C. By physically involved in 75% of all fundraisers;
D. Must participate in coordination, preparation and involvement of two (2) to three (3) of the designated major
fundraiser activities;
E. At least Student or Family member must be present at fundraisers.
F. A designated representative of each group supported (FFA, FCCLA, each 4H chapter) must be at each meeting.
G. Every family must have a signed-dated copy of the ByLaws on file with the Secretary.
H. Dues of members shall be $10.00 per family per annum.
I. Families make their email addresses or cell phone numbers available. [We have found this to be the only
effective way to keep you informed!
