            My name is Kim Brecht, and I have the privilege of being your child’s reading teacher for the 2023/24 school year. I am looking forward to getting to know your child and family.

            I grew up in Decatur, Texas, and graduated from Texas Woman’s University. I have been a teacher since 1996. I am certified to teach grades one through eight, secondary government, and ESL. I have taught in both secondary and elementary settings. 

            I currently live in Krum with my husband Chris and my daughter Halle. I have two married children Ty (wife Mira) and Lauren(husband Alex), and four grandsons Zach, Asa, Silas, Brayden, and one granddaughter Evelyn. Much of my spare time is spent with my family, and our three dogs. I love sports, reading, and pretty much anything outdoors.

            Please know I have high expectations for my child’s education, and I will provide the same expectations while working with your child. As your child’s teacher I have an open-door policy, so please contact me at any time to discuss concerns, or celebrations.

I can reserve time to speak with you during my conference, or after school. My conference period is 1:15 to 2:00 every afternoon.
